about.

What does yield mean?
Yield encompasses three meanings that we desire to see in ourselves and those we coach:

Yield to Jesus

John 15 tells us that if we do not abide, we can do nothing, but if we abide, we will bear much fruit. We’ve learned that the key to abiding is yielding our selves to Jesus, and we want to help others deepen in their abiding through surrendering and receiving from him.

Yield to Others

As ministry and team leaders, we are called to be servants in our leadership. Kingdom leadership is yielding our preferences or priorities to help others succeed, whether others on your team or national partners that you are empowering.

See a Yield of Fruitfulness

Mark 4:8 says, “And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” Through abiding and servant leadership, we believe that your leadership will grow and increase and yield a fruitful, multiplying harvest of disciples that will impact the nations.

Our Mission

Why we exist.
Jenn and Steven Chang

We (Jenn and Steven) launched to the field as 25 year old new team leaders over a team of 13 people. Even though we had completed various missionary and theological trainings and had experience in full-time ministry before we launched, we quickly found ourselves overwhelmed, underprepared, and undersupported in our efforts to lead our team and start a new ministry overseas. By God’s grace, we were able to grasp for mentors, lean on our team, and develop new resources that were needed for our team to thrive and stay on task. After 5 years we were able to expand from our original team into 3 teams.

Over the past decade, we’ve repeatedly observed the same lack of training, coaching, and support for cross-cultural team and ministry leaders around the world. This leads to missionaries returning home for preventable reasons, unhealthy teams, and ineffectiveness in ministry. We believe that the health and effectiveness of leaders greatly affects the health and effectiveness of their teams. Yield Leadership Coaching exists to coach and train leaders to abide in Christ, help their teams thrive, and effectively pursue movement among the unreached.

Coaching and training leaders to abide in Christ, help their teams thrive, and effectively pursue movement among the unreached.

Core Values

1

Abiding in Christ

All life, ministry, and leadership flows from abiding in Christ. We seek constant union with Him, receiving from Jesus in order to bear lasting fruit and glorify God.

2

Church Planting Movements among the Unreached

The Great Commission calls us to make disciples of all nations. We pursue Church Planting Movements as a strategic way to see the gospel multiply among the unreached, empowering and partnering with national and near-culture believers.

3

Leader Equipping

We believe God often advances His mission through leaders. We invest in developing and coaching leaders to impact their teams, national partners, and the unreached.

4

Diverse Collaboration

The Kingdom of God is marked by unity between people from diverse backgrounds. We collaborate with different churches, organizations, and agencies in order to elevate diverse perspectives across genders, generations, and cultures.

5

Pioneering & Strategic Focus

We believe that pioneering ministry among the unreached is apostolic work in nature. We depend on the Spirit’s guidance to direct us towards strategic and effective methods that will see Kingdom breakthrough.

6

Healthy Teams

We value working in healthy teams - among cross-cultural workers or national partners - that are built on relational trust and elevate each person’s specific gifts and roles.

Yield Leadership Coaching has adopted the Lausanne Covenant as our Statement of Faith. Below is a shortened version.

Spiritual Warfare
Bible
We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written word of God, without error, in the original manuscripts, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. 1 Timothy 3:16
God
We affirm our belief in the one-eternal, creator God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Christ
We affirm that Jesus Christ, being himself the only God-man, who gave himself as a ransom for sinners, is the only mediator between God and people. He died for our sins and was raised from the dead in triumph. He will return in glory to consummate our salvation and judge the world.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Father sent his Spirit to bear witness to his Son. Conviction of sin, faith in Christ, new birth and Christian growth are all his work.
Salvation
We believe that we are sinners saved by grace through faith in Jesus, our only savior. Sinners must humbly confess their sins and repent, to receive forgiveness through the blood of Christ. By believing in Christ and receiving him, we are born again into a new life that never ends. Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13; Acts 4:12; Luke 19:10.
Church
We affirm that all believers in Christ are members of his body, the church. We exist to glorify God by worshipping him and to serve God by reaching out to the lost locally and globally.
Baptism
As baptism is a symbol for Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, we affirm our conviction that only those who have personally trusted Christ as their savior should undergo water baptism by immersion.
Kingdom of God
God will establish and perfect his kingdom, and we look forward with eager anticipation to that day, and to the new heaven and earth in which righteousness will dwell and God will reign forever. Revelation 11:15.
Missions
The Church is at the very center of God’s cosmic purpose and is his appointed means of spreading the gospel to the world. Our missionary calling requires the whole church to take the whole gospel to the whole world. The church must with all available means and at the earliest possible time ensure that every person from every nation, tribe and language will have the opportunity to hear, understand, and receive the good news.
Evangelism
To evangelize is to spread the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead. He is now alive with God, the Father, to offer forgiveness of sins to all who repent and believe. Evangelism is the proclamation of the historical, biblical Christ as Savior and Lord, with a view to persuading people to come to him personally and so be reconciled to God.
Social Responsibility
We affirm that loving our neighbor means concern for the social conditions of the world. Because men and women are made in the image of God, every person, regardless of race, religion, color, culture, class, sex or age, has an intrinsic dignity because of which he or she should be respected and served, not exploited.
Spiritual Warfare
We believe that we are engaged in constant spiritual warfare with the principalities and powers of evil, who are seeking to overthrow the Church and frustrate God’s purposes. We know our need to equip ourselves with God’s armor and to fight this battle with the spiritual weapons of truth and prayer.
